Max

Max has a new home in Birmingham

October 2009

He is still the best dog ever! Absolutely love him. thanks again for all you do!

April 2009

Hey, I just wanted to touch base. Max is doing great! I’m still love’n him! I have to tell you, he is the most affectionate dog I have ever had or known and I just love it. He is my little snuggle bug. At night when we go to bed he goes under the covers and sleeps between my legs but if he gets too hot he just comes on up and lays on my pillow right next to me. He is great! Thanks again and thank you for doing what you do. If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have this little blessing.

Katie

 Simon

Simon was adopted out locally in the Birmingham area.

June 2009

I adopted a puppy named Simon a little over a year ago. I wanted to send you a picture and let you know that he is doing great. He is my little shadow! He was one of your 'Bare Naked Babies,' but look at him now...full of fur!!

Scarlet

Scarlet has a new home in Montreal, Canada!

We just can't believe it. This little Scarlett is just absolutly wonderful. As you can see in the first picture we took(more to come), she taking cuddling and naping very seriously. As I'm writing this mail, she's sleeping on my laps. She is very intelligent, and as already figured out a lot a things for her first day.
She met the cat, and it looks like they gonna have hours of fun playing. She make a single little bark so far, to talk to the cat, she's very silent.

Big big big thank to all of you, for making this adoption possible.
You can tell this pup had a stressless puppyhood so far, and is ready of love floodings to come....

Hi, here's some more news from the little Scarlett. It's official, we'll stick with her original name, it's just her, any other name sounds inappropriate.

She's doing quiet well, the housebreaking is on it's way. She's learning a lot, things like not biting too hard, just by abandoning the game and ignoring her for 10 minutes, she understood in just one little day, no need for shouting.

She starts loving the click training, we got so far 'sit' and 'give paw'. She's growing fast, and she's taking her correct weight back, we can't see her ribcage anymore. She is lovely, she is the ultimate lap dog, she's sleeping on my laps has I'm writing this mail. She loves love;  cuddling, scratching on the belly, behind the ears, on the paws, she just abandon herself, in total confidence. She is walking on leash very well, she follow us like our shadows, focusing on our moves, the leash is always loose.

She is still a little bit scared by people outside during walks, but she's so cute everybody comes to greet here.
As a lifelong ratties lover, I'm very proud of her, especially in a place (Montreal) where ratties are pretty much an unknown breed.

Best Regards. Denis & Catherine

Fred

Fred got a very special home with Tom and the rest of his doggy crew, including 3 rescued greyhounds. Tom has been very good about keeping us up to date with Fred and his new friends...

"There are times when Fred so wears out the rest of the pack during play that he must rely on his imagination for entertainment. This is a picture of one such time…

Fred: “So here I am...lost at sea in a rickety old schooner and surrounded by Molly, Cindy, and Wrong-Wrong, three monster sea serpents waiting patiently for me to fall overboard. I’m desperate, I’m helpless, and I’m plum starving to death! Oh, let me call out now to the only one who can come to my aid: TOM, PLEASE BRING ME A COOKIE!!”

(Tune in next week for more of the imaginary [but mind-numbing] “Adventures of Fred”)

Barney

Barney's new name is Hamish..taken from a fictional character from Scotland …a small village police officer with a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble because of his insatiable curiousity.!  Somehow, the name seems to fit!

We took him to our vet Dr. Crowe on Sept. 8, who pronounced him one fine terrier!

I had forgotten how much fun a puppy can be.  This little bit is into everything (stole my contact lens cleaner last night and emptied the bottle!)  He loves our other two dogs, and even the cat.  The German Shepherd thinks Hamish is a great new “binkie” but treats him very kindly.  Maggie, the hound dog is still in denial and just pretends he’s not there. He is almost house broken!  And, like Maggie, loves to eat!

Here’s a couple of pictures.  They’re not too good cause he won’t stay still.  (Can dogs have ADD?)

Wilson

Wilson is doing great!  He's only had about 2 accidents inside and he's getting better and better at going outside.  He's so loving.  He barely leaves my side--he even follows me up the stairs to the bathroom!  He's been sleeping all night with me and this morning he woke me up around 1:00 and I took him outside and he immediately did his "business" and came right back inside.  I was so proud of him!

Ceaser

Ceaser was adopted by Tim's mother, who had recently lost her husband.

The puppy has become her new best friend!

Tim reports:

"He's such a friendly pup.  There was several of us over at Mother's today.

He had to jump up in everyone's lap and say hello.  Ginger was taking a nap on the love seat this

afternoon and the puppy climbed up on her after a while and started licking her in the face.

He's a great companion for Mother."

Sierra

Sierra was adopted by a wonderful family in Wyoming! After many months of trying to figure out a way to get Sierra from Alabama to Wyoming,  her new family decided to fly her there. Here is what they had to say about meeting her for the first time...

"We love her!! We were so surprised to look into that huge crate and see that wagging little tail and that petite little baby girl. We did not hear her bark until we got home, when she saw the cats. She is the perfect size! I have never had a little girl like her before. She really likes George, and watched him closely the whole day as we were traveling. She climbed up into his lap last night , and curled up by our feet and slept like a log. I know she was worried about what was going on, so George and I cancelled dinner plans and ordered a pizza, so she would not be al;one in the room. When we got home tonight, she seemed to know that this is where we live. She is comfortable  and not at all nervous. George and I could not believe that such a sweet , well mannered little dog had not been snatched up and adopted in all this time.

Sie is special, and I truly believe that she was meant to be our forever little girl. There is no other explanation for why she was not placed.. We are so glad she is here with us. We have many wonderful adventures ahead. You are an angel Laurie! We will always be in touch, and always support your foster program."

Congratulations on finding such a great home Sierra! We know you will be very happy!
