About Us

A Litter at a Time Rescue (ALAAT) is made up of several individuals, all with full time jobs, families etc., who, with the help of their foster families and friends, and the Internet, are trying to find loving, forever homes for precious litters and mommas-to-be. All of our pups are fostered across the central Alabama area. We do not have a specific location for you to come and visit the pups. If your application is approved, we will arrange for you to meet the pup.

ALAAT began in April 2007 and to date has helped place well over 200 animals. ALAAT prides itself in being one of the few, if not the only, rescues that deals strictly with litters and their mommas.

Too often, shelters have their orders to euthanize any pregnant dogs... When we find out, we pull the dog and place them with a loving foster family. In fact, many of our pups are born under our care.

ALAAT and One of a Kinds by Robbie Lowe

We recently joined forces with OOAKS by Robbie Lowe (One of a Kinds - pronounced "oo-auks"). Like all of our puppies, each of these precious little babies are unique.

Robbie was inspired by a tv program to create these unique and definitely one of a kind plush toys.

These guys will be available to purchase soon and are exclusively found here only on the A Litter At A Time Rescue website.

No two are alike. Each are special and different in their own way, just as God created us. When you order an OOAK, you are not sure what you will get, but you will be pleasantly surprised and no one else in the world will have one just like it - guaranteed!

These little misfits are unique from birth. They are all handsewn by loving hands from bits and pieces. OOAKS come in two sizes - one for your pet and one for your child (either will probably work for your pet or your child). Some even come with squeakers!
